Our production facility in Dobczyce is equipped with specialized machinery, enabling us to achieve down of sterile purity and the highest quality standards. The production process is multi-stage: the raw material is dedusted, washed, sterilized, and sorted under the supervision of our in-house laboratory, which tests samples of raw materials and semi-finished products at every stage.
The Cedrob feather processing plant has been operating continuously for over 70 years, which directly translates into the vast knowledge and experience gained during this time. Our team consists of qualified employees who are supported by technology at every stage of production. This combination of knowledge, commitment, and modern machinery allows us to achieve exceptional product cleanliness at 1000 mm, sterility ensuring safe use, and high-quality parameters. Production Standards
Cedrob Supply Chain
1. Breeding Farm
Our raw material department collaborates exclusively with farms that prioritize animal welfare and species purity in goose breeding. After verifying their standards, we purchase goose eggs, which are then transferred to our hatchery.
2. Hatchery
We operate our own hatchery, where goose eggs from our verified farms are brought. Under careful supervision and care, the hatching process takes place. We maintain full control over it and make every effort to ensure the goslings are healthy.
3. Rearing Farm
We cooperate with farms that provide suitable free-range living conditions for geese. We place great emphasis on ensuring that geese have constant access to green areas and an appropriate acreage for the flock, while maintaining biosecurity principles to preserve their health. The geese’s diet, which should include readily available green fodder and oats, is also crucial for us.
4. Raw Material Acquisition
At every stage of our process, geese are treated with care for their welfare and safety. This is also crucial for us in the final stage of the birds’ lives, when they are transferred to the meat processing plant. We operate with high animal welfare standards and in accordance with European norms. At this stage, we use a globally unique technique of manual post-slaughter feather collection from the pectoral-abdominal area, known as A1, and fraction separation.
5. Feathers
Goose feathers are a masterpiece of Mother Nature and one of the best insulating materials in the world. This is possible due to the bird’s unique ability to adapt to atmospheric conditions. A goose will not freeze in winter nor overheat in summer, as its plumage perfectly responds to the ambient temperature, providing insulation against cold and ensuring ventilation and heat dissipation on hot days.
6. Feather Processing Plant
High-quality raw material is only half the battle in our industry; equally important is how the raw material is processed to create the finished product—down that is odorless, free of foreign bodies, dust, flyaways, and sterilely clean, thus safe for further use. In our production facility, the raw material undergoes many technologically advanced processes of washing, dedusting, sterilization, and laboratory testing based on rigorous quality standards.
7. Shipping
The final stage of our production process is the meticulously planned shipment of the finished product to our customers. We deliver down by land, air, and sea. Our Logistics Department efficiently handles shipments according to customer preferences, operating within an SAP system that allows us to reliably control the production and packaging process of the raw material, guaranteeing that the customer receives a product consistent with their order.
